An alternative approach to partnership compatibility in Jyotish
In this workshop Richard Fidler, whom many of you know from previous workshops, teaches his approach to relationship issues, which is inspired from the innovative work of Jyotishis trained in classical Jyotish. Everyone who has a basic understanding in Jyotish can join this workshop.
Here is Richard´s description:
In short, I highlight the importance of starting with an understanding of the natal chart and what it says about relationship patterns in the individuals involved, with a special emphasis on the Moon (but also other key factors such as the 7th house, its karakas and other factors also). I then present the “cornerstone” method, or a slightly adapted version that remains true to all the essential principles, as described in Light on Relationships. This method focusses on the relationship between the Sun, Moon, ascendant and Venus between the two charts. Then you have the principle of “building on the cornerstones” where you have either benefics (Jupiter in particular) or malefics overlaying these cornerstone contacts, thereby either enhancing or spoiling them. This also applies with transits. These cornerstone connections help to reveal what I like to call the “centre of gravity” in a relationship, the most important place/s that link two people, and how life cycles animate this centre of gravity.
Richard Fidler is an astrologer born in South Africa who currently lives in the United Kingdom. He became interested in astrology at the age of 15, and within a few years it became a full-time occupation. Like most people in the West, he started with Western astrology, but then began exploring Jyotish in 1997.
Over the years, he has introduced many hundreds of students of Western astrology to the value of Jyotish through courses, lectures, and articles. He has also been instrumental in organizing astrological conferences in South Africa and India, attended by such well-known astrologers as Robert Hand and Komilla Sutton. Richard was chairman of the Cape Astrology Association, based in Cape Town, for several years and was the British representative of ISAR (International Society for Astrological Research) from 2021 to 2023.
Richard is currently working with a group of colleagues to establish an astrology school that will offer training in various ancient forms of astrology, including Jyotish and Persian astrology, as well as special software for astrologers.
